11 and Counting

About two weeks ago, both of you got to read about my son, Kyle after he turned seven. You read a little about his personality, his quirks and his questions. I appreciate you letting me gush over my son.

Well, I hope you will grant me a little flexibility to do the same thing today about the greatest woman in the world, my wife. You see, Jennifer and I were married 11 years ago today. We have officially entered the second decade of anniversaries. WOW! We have been best friends for 13 years now (we dated almost two years to the day we got married) and it has been amazing.

Once when we were dating, Jennifer bought a journal and listed 50 things that she remembered about the first six months we were dating. She added another 50 after we had known he had known each other a year. We would write notes to each other during class (which explains my G.P.A. after I met her). We would go on dates and then talk to each other for three more hours on the phone. We had a blast when we were dating. But it is nothing compared to our life together as husband and wife.

Our life has been a whirlwind. We moved to Fort Worth (seperately) before we got married. Then we lived in Arlington after we got married. Got transferred to Houston. Got sick of Houston. Moved to Denver. Got pregnant with Cayce. This was all in the first two years of getting married! Every step of the way, God led us to where we are now, even if we resisted it.

Let me just tell you how unbelievable my wife is. My wife is the most caring and compassionate person I know. She serves people as she would serve God. She is truly an others first person. She loves our kids more everyday. She is and awesome mom (and keeps me in check as a Dad!). She is creative, persistent, and a great tennis player. And have I mentioned that she is gorgeous? She is the most beautiful woman in the world. I love her more every day.

So, in honor of my wife, here are 11 things I love about her (not limited to 11 mind you...):

1. She endures my love of football and even watches it with me, asking questions like "Did Ben Roethelisberger throw 17 or 18 touchdowns last year?...I can't remember." - Most men would kill for this.
2. She stops to talk to homeless people and see if she can buy them food.
3. She loves to Mow. - Most men would kill for this.
4. She loves the Beach and the mountains. She could lay on a sandy beach or go camping. Not the Holiday Inn kind of camping...real camping. We don't do this nearly enough.
5. She is exceptionally thoughtful of others. She puts others first.
6. She is absolutely gorgeous, have I mentioned this?
7. She doesn't worry about if I make the bed, leave a half full coke can on the coffee table, or leave my shoes in the middle of the floor. Most men would kill for this.
8. She is an awesome Mommy. She will draw and read with Cayce, play baseball and Xbox with Kyle and sit and listen to me butcher the guitar and say "Wow...you are really getting good!".
9. She thinks I am funny. This makes her great...but it also makes me question her sense of humor.
10. She has created our home to be somewhere that we can have people in anytime. She is an awesome hostess.
11. And finally...she is the best friend a guy could have.

Thanks again for letting me talk about my family over the last couple of weeks. I will have to gush on Cayce soon to keep her from feeling left out!
